SCS, a brand under Desco Industries, Inc., emerged on January 2, 2015, following the acquisition of 3M's Static Control business. This strategic move positioned SCS as the largest manufacturer of static control products in North America. Building on 3M's pioneering legacy in static control, including the invention of the Metal-Out Static Shielding bag in 1977, SCS continues to lead the industry with advanced solutions tailored for static control challenges.

SCS offers a comprehensive range of products, including static shielding and barrier bags manufactured at their Sanford, NC facility. Their vertical integration spans from raw materials to finished products, ensuring stringent control over quality and production. Their specialized films and custom manufacturing capabilities address diverse customer needs with precision and reliability.

The acquisition of Credence Technologies in 2006 bolstered SCS's portfolio with high-end ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge) monitoring equipment. This equipment supports electronic manufacturers in managing their ESD programs effectively. SCS's Static Management Program (SMP) integrates test equipment and software to monitor ESD control compliance in real-time, enhancing product quality, production yields, and overall reliability.
