Hammond
Hammond Manufacturing, founded in 1917 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, began as O.S. Hammond and Son. Starting with tube radio sets and battery chargers, Hammond quickly adapted to the growing broadcast and communications industries. By the early 1930s, they were the first in Canada to produce 2-post racks and narrow cabinets. The mid-20th century saw Hammond diversify into transformers, racks, cabinets, and enclosures, becoming a significant supplier for the electrical and electronic industries.
Over the past four decades, Hammond has focused on expanding into the United States and international markets. They achieved this through strategic acquisitions and partnerships, particularly in the transformer sector, leading to the creation of Hammond Power Solutions, Inc. (HPSI) in 2001. HPSI specializes in custom and catalog transformers, while Hammond Manufacturing continues to provide a wide range of electrical and electronic enclosures, racks, cabinets, power bars, and low-voltage transformers.
Today, Hammond Manufacturing operates globally with over 700 employees dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service. Headquartered in Guelph, Ontario, Hammond is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (HMM.A) and maintains offices in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Taiwan. Their extensive product range and customization services cater to electrical and electronic manufacturers, utilities, and institutions worldwide.
