Selex Motors: The Sole Vietnamese Electric Motorcycle Brand with Battery Swapping Stations
Published: 9.4.2024
Selex Motors, a Vietnamese electric vehicle startup founded in 2018, is carving out a niche in the logistics and transportation sectors with its innovative approach. On August 24th, Selex Motors shipped its first batch of electric motorcycles to the Philippines, marking a significant milestone. The Camel 2 model, which includes a battery swapping system, was chosen for this venture. The decision to enter the Philippine market was influenced by the country’s early-stage development of electric vehicles and supportive policies.
Selex Motors is currently the only company in Vietnam offering a battery swapping solution, allowing users to quickly exchange batteries in just a few minutes, eliminating charging wait times. This system is particularly advantageous for service drivers, who are the company’s primary target market.
Additionally, Selex Motors has partnered with Samsung SDI to produce and supply battery cells, making it the exclusive partner in Vietnam. The company plans to expand its battery swapping network across major Vietnamese cities, with the goal of establishing 150 stations in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
