Vietnam: France Eye High Cooperation Prospects in Hydrogen Development

Published: 8.16.2024

Vietnam and France are strengthening their collaboration in the development of hydrogen energy, with promising prospects on the horizon. Hydrogen de France (HDF Energy), a prominent French energy company that has been active in Vietnam since 2022, recently inaugurated its first fuel cell factory in Bordeaux, France. This significant milestone is expected to pave the way for the establishment of "green" hydrogen factories in Vietnam and other countries in the near future.

The collaboration between Vietnam and France in hydrogen development is seen as a strategic move to advance the global energy transition. Vietnam, with its abundant renewable energy resources, provides an ideal environment for the production of green hydrogen, which is produced using renewable energy sources and emits zero carbon. The partnership with HDF Energy could position Vietnam as a key player in the global hydrogen economy, contributing to both countries' goals of reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable energy solutions.

This cooperation is anticipated to bring substantial economic and environmental benefits, driving innovation and growth in the renewable energy sector while also strengthening the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and France.
