Vietnam's Semiconductor Revenue to Reach $31.28 Billion to Become a Global Manufacturing Hub
Published: 7.18.2024
According to Statista Market Insights, Vietnam's semiconductor revenue is projected to achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.6% from 2023 to 2027, reaching $31.28 billion by 2027. The integrated circuit segment, the industry's most crucial part, is expected to be valued at $16.44 billion by 2024.
Vietnam's data center and semiconductor industries are emerging sectors, with few companies involved. However, significant development opportunities have driven substantial growth in related stocks. The data center market in Vietnam, currently dominated by local companies such as Viettel, VNPT, FPT, and CMG, holds immense potential due to the increasing demand driven by digital transformation and enterprise data migration to cloud platforms.
With only about 30 data centers, Vietnam's capacity remains small compared to regional competitors. However, leading telecom companies like Viettel and FPT are actively investing in new data centers to meet international standards, expected to spur market growth in 2024-2025.
Additionally, Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the US in September 2023, focusing on semiconductor supply chains, workforce training, and ecosystem development. Major US semiconductor companies, including Intel and Amkor, have committed significant investments, supporting Vietnam's potential to become a global semiconductor manufacturing hub by 2030.
