Specialties include capacitor arrays, radial leaded capacitors, pulsed power capacitors for detonation circuitry, oil exploration circuitry, photo flash, laser, power interruption and power storage modules. Certified safety (X2, Y3/Y2) and ring detect capacitors for Telecom. High temperature including X8R for harsh environments such as oil exploration and automotive/avionics engine compartment circuitry.

On February 28th 2014, Dover Corporation spun-off a portion of their Communications Technology Group including Dielectric Laboratories, Syfer, Novacap and Voltronics into Knowles Corporation.
