Ohmite

Ohmite Manufacturing Company, founded in 1925 by David T. Siegel in a small shop on the west side of Chicago, has been a leading provider of resistive products for high current, high voltage, and high energy applications for nearly a century. Originally manufacturing carbon and wirewound 'lug' resistors for Chicago's burgeoning radio industry, Ohmite has continually evolved to meet the ever-changing demands of the electronics industry. In 1953, the company moved to a newly built facility in Skokie, Illinois, and through strategic acquisitions in the late 1990s, expanded its capabilities in wirewound and thick film resistor technologies.

Ohmite’s product range includes wirewound, wire element, thick film, and ceramic composition resistors, catering to the industrial, medical, military, and aerospace industries. Their innovative resistive products are known for their performance and reliability, addressing the sophisticated needs of modern high voltage, high current, and high energy circuit designs. The company’s flexibility allows it to handle both large and small orders, with a commitment to evaluating new technologies and creating made-to-order parts to meet specific customer requirements.

With headquarters in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and manufacturing operations in Matamoros, Mexico, Ohmite benefits from the support of Heico Companies LLC. Their international network of distributors and sales representatives ensures product availability and customer satisfaction in a global marketplace. Ohmite continues to lead in power resistor technology, offering a broad selection of high-quality products to meet the diverse needs of their worldwide customers.
